Clapper
During my high school years, I recognized a gap in the market: the absence of a platform where movie and TV series enthusiasts could catalog their watched content, receive personalized recommendations, and engage with a community. Driven to fill this void, I began developing a solution in my first year of university while freelancing in web and design, which deepened my understanding of the startup ecosystem.
In 2016, a computer engineer friend I knew from high school and I launched the “Clapper” project. Our submission to the ITU Core Incubation Center Entrepreneurship Training Program was selected among 20 projects, providing us with invaluable entrepreneurship training, investor presentations, and mentorship. This culminated in securing our first seed investment and founding Clapper Technology Corporation in 2018.
By February 2019, Clapper was live on the App Store and Google Play, quickly reaching 20,000 users. This success necessitated a revamp of our back-end architecture to support our growing user base. Expanding beyond the app, Clapper diversified into Agency and Production, offering product design, branding, and web-mobile software services to startups, casting agencies, actors, and established companies.
Over four years, despite challenges such as team changes during the pandemic, we maintained excellence in our Agency and Production services, delivering high-quality solutions and fostering strong industry relationships. This journey not only honed my skills in entrepreneurship, project management, and software development but also reinforced the importance of adaptability and resilience in the dynamic tech landscape.
